Dutch Design Supermodels

Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

A miniature survey of the best of Dutch design, furniture, and architecture, from Gerrit Rietveld and H.P. Berlage to the designers working today.

SUPERMODELS brought together iconic works from across generations, rendered at scale, to show that contemporary Dutch design grows from remarkably deep roots. The exhibition opened at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, before travelling to at least twelve international venues, including London, Berlin, Washington, and Chicago.

At its core was a collection of 3D printed furniture, accompanied by a body scan booth where visitors could experience 3D printing firsthand. Kranen/Gille were invited to furnish one of the rooms in the Dutch Design Doll House with their own classics, a miniature world within a miniature world.
